  Time is listed incorrectly on yelp, doesn't open till 5:30 on Sunday.  Got here at 4:44 and there was a line of about 50 people and people had lawn chairs waited for the spot to open.  So it means food is either really good or we are sucker.  
  So the reason for the line is that for the first hour, 90% of the menu is 50% off!
  Food was great .  Had sashimi salmon and hamachi , miso glazed butter fished melted in your mouth. Sake and beer great as well.  And Andrew was a really good server .  So the food was work it .  Definitely check it out .  We had to roll ourselves out of the restaurant.

  First night in Maui and realized many restaurants close around 9 pm. It is tough finding a place that is open late. Luckily, we found this gem. Sansei is open for dinner and then late-night starts at 10 pm for everyone over 21 years old. All food items are 50% off and they have karaoke!
  
  We ordered the edamame, two rolls, carpaccio, and a salad sushi roll. All the food tasted great! With 50% off, it tasted even better! The food was finished rather quickly and then we thought about ordering more but service was a bit slow. They were trying to attend to everyone as well. So we got the check, but that took a while too lol.
  
  Overall, I really liked this place. I appreciate the late hours of operation.

  More around 2.5.
  Fast seating from the hostess despite not having a reservation.
  Server Casey was friendly and did warn us that food may come out a bit slower due to the high volume of customers, although the actual wait time wasn't too long (10-12min).
  
  Ordered 2 x "Award Winning" menu items and 3x rolls.
  
  -Sansei's Shrimp Dynamite
  -Panko-Crusted Fresh Ahi Sashimi
  
  -Spicy Hamachi Roll
  -Sansei Special Roll
  -Kapalua "Butterfry" Roll
  
  Unfortunately, the flavors were average/mediocre at best and the rolls were cut unevenly. I somehow bit into a small eggshell from one of Sansei's special rolls (which they comped after the meal). Casey and the manager (I think) apologized for the poor experience  but unfortunately for us, the pricey rolls and mediocre flavors won't be enticing us to return anytime soon.

  Hands down an amazing place!
  Sat at the bar and ordered the crab hand roll with Thai sauce. Ordered it twice ..  it's the best roll I've ever had.

  This was our second time here and we were very disappointed. While some of the dishes were good, the overall feel of the place was somewhat lacking. We wanted to try a few different sashimi and were told that each order came with 4-7 pieces and you couldn't mix and match.
  On top of that the bathrooms were really disgusting. Dirty, and the men's toilet wasn't working and when I told some about it, they tried shifting the blame around.
  With all the great sushi places on Maui, this is one we will no longer patronize.
  Avoid them and stay away.
